Job description

Envision Education is currently recruiting a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a SEND school in Welwyn Garden City. This is a full-time opportunity, Monday to Friday (8:30am-3:30pm), with an immediate start available.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children and is looking to further develop their experience within a school setting.

This school are looking for Teaching Assistants to support in Reception to Year 3 in mixed-age class designed to support pupils with a wide range of learning needs, including children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Promote positive behaviour as a Teaching Assistant
  • Encourage pupils independence and confidence
  • Contribute to maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment
  • Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support to pupils as a Teaching Assistant
  • Assist teachers in delivering inclusive and engaging lessons as a Teaching Assistant

What We're Looking For:

  • Availability to start immediately
  • Previous experience working with children in a professional setting
  • Experience supporting additional needs (desirable but not essential)
  • A patient, adaptable and proactive attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to contribute to personal care where required
