Special Needs Teaching Assistant - SEN School

Are you an experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant who has a passion about working with children in a thriving learning environment? Are you currently seeking a long-term placement? A wonderful SEN School in Richmond is seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their fantastic team.

The School:

  • A Special School based in Richmond
  • OFSTED 'Good' rated school
  • Working across KS1 and KS2
  • Support varying needs within the class working either 1:1 or 1:2
  • Staff receive regular safeguarding training and follow the school's policies well

The Role:

  • Plan, observe and follow EHCP's for individual pupils who need extra support
  • Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare
  • Act as a role model and be able to build/support pupils on a daily basis within all aspects of their learning
  • Build an excellent rapport with staff, pupils and parents

Requirements:

  • Recent experience of working with special needs pupils, inside or outside a school environment
  • Be committed to working alongside the teacher and be willing to lead lessons or small group work
  • Hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS
  • Be able to work full time 5 days a week Monday to Friday
  • Live locally to Richmond or be able to commute there on a daily basis
