Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed class teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Hemel Hempstead. The school caters for children aged 3-11 and has a supportive staff team and positive learning environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a Key Stage 2 class and will work closely with experienced teaching assistants and colleagues across the key stage. This is a full-time, permanent position available from the summer term or September 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and varying attainment levels
- Use a range of strategies to develop pupils' reading, writing, maths and spoken language skills
- Assess pupils' progress regularly and use this information to inform planning and support pupil development
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues to support learning across the class
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-organised classroom environment that supports learning and good behaviour
