1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Year 1

Primary School | Hounslow | Full time, Monday to Friday

A mainstream primary school in Hounslow is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with autism and additional SEND needs.

You will need to build a strong relationship with the pupil quickly, support them throughout the day with their SEND needs, and ensure they are safe and well at all times.

Key responsibilities as SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day

  • Support learning, engagement and emotional regulation

  • Follow routines and strategies set by the class teacher/SENCO

  • Support transitions, playtimes and classroom activities

  • Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding and pupil safety

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting KS1 pupils with SEND

  • Experience supporting pupils with autism (preferred)

  • Patient, reliable and confident building positive relationships

Pay rate is dependent on qualifications, experience, and skills.
