We are delighted to be working with a supportive and inclusive school in Welwyn Garden City, who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching & Learning Assistant to join their team. This temp-to-perm role is well suited to someone with experience in behaviour mentoring, SEMH support, or SEND, who is ready to make a lasting difference in the classroom.

Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND, including those with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Establish clear, consistent, and fair boundaries, helping pupils to regulate their emotions and remain engaged in learning.
Implement de-escalation strategies and behaviour management techniques to minimise barriers to progress.
Work closely with teachers to deliver an inclusive and engaging curriculum adapted to individual needs.
Monitor and record pupil progress, offering feedback to support both academic development and personal growth.

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or SEND in a UK school setting.
Strong interpersonal skills - confident, calm, and resilient.
Full-time availability: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Based in or able to commute to Welwyn Garden City.
