Job description

Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Brent - Immediate Start

We are currently seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Brent, starting as soon as possible.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 4:00pm, providing 1:1 support to pupils with special educational needs.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting children with special needs. Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant is desirable, though not essential. However, you must have prior experience working with children in the UK in some capacity, and be able to provide a reference for this.

  • Someone who can effectively support pupils with emotional and behavioural challenges, enabling them to fully access the curriculum

  • A reliable team player with a positive attitude and good sense of humour

  • High levels of care, ambition, and motivation to see pupils succeed

  • Willingness to work both 1:1 and with small groups of children

  • Ability to assess and monitor pupil progress effectively

  • A strong communicator who works well with colleagues, teachers, and parents/carers

Requirements:

  • Available to work 08:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar UK setting (must be referenceable)

  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

  • Reside in Brent or within a commutable distance

  • Right to work in the UK
