Job description
This is a large, inclusive special education setting supporting pupils aged 2 to 19 with a wide range of additional needs. It is one of the largest provisions of its kind, supporting children and young people with moderate learning difficulties (MLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and autism.
The setting is purpose-built and offers extensive specialist facilities, including a nursery and post-16 provision, soft-play areas, hydrotherapy pool, multi-sensory rooms, library, IT suites, music facilities and a large sports hall. It is a vibrant, welcoming environment that offers rewarding career opportunities for professionals committed to helping young people achieve their full potential.
Due to increased local demand for specialist provision, an exciting phased expansion is underway, creating additional school places across multiple sites. This growth provides a unique opportunity to join a developing provision, with roles available across both the main and satellite settings, and to contribute to the continued delivery of high-quality, personalised education for pupils with diverse SEND needs.
The Role
We are seeking enthusiastic, committed and innovative Class Teachers to join the team. You will support pupils with a wide range of educational needs, helping them to achieve their full potential while contributing to a collaborative, inclusive and aspirational learning environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to shape a developing provision, demonstrate best practice and work closely with colleagues, families and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality teaching and learning tailored to individual pupil needs, ensuring progress and equality of opportunity.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with pupils, maintaining dignity and professional boundaries at all times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, carers and external professionals to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
- Promote and safeguard pupil welfare in line with statutory guidance and safeguarding procedures.
- Contribute positively to the ethos, vision and ongoing development of the provision, supporting an inclusive and aspirational environment.
Key Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant teaching experience.
- Strong knowledge of strategies to meet individual needs, including differentiation, behaviour management and personalised learning approaches.
- Sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, equal opportunities and health & safety requirements.
- Experience working in partnership with parents, carers and external agencies.
- Commitment to modelling best practice and contributing positively to a collaborative staff team.
