Primary Teaching Assistant - Brent

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Primary School Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Brent, which offers weekly training and development opportunities to all staff.

This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm) with an immediate start available.

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, providing 1:1 support to help them achieve their full potential.

The ideal candidate will have previous SEN experience and a good understanding of working with children who display complex behaviours, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a positive approach to learning support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to SEND pupils as a Teaching Assistant, ensuring that their individual needs are met both academically and socially.
  • Work with small groups of SEND students as a Teaching Assistant, providing tailored support to foster a collaborative learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other Teaching Assistants to create an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes engagement and participation for all students.
  • Assist in setting up and tidying the classroom before and after lessons, ensuring a well-organised learning environment as a Primary School Teaching Assistant.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, ensuring they stay on track with their developmental milestones and provide feedback to teachers as needed as a Primary School Teaching Assistant.
  • Support students in a variety of school activities and assist with their personal care needs as required.
  • Promote independence and self-confidence among SEND students, providing encouragement and guidance as a Teaching Assistant as they navigate their learning journey.

Requirements:

  • Available Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm.
  • Able to start immediately as a Teaching Assistant
  • DBS checked or willing to apply for one.
  • Experience working with children in the UK
  • Live in the Brent area or able to commute to the area.
