Job description

Are you a Performing Arts graduate with a passion for supporting children and young people with special educational needs? Would you love to use your creativity in a rewarding, school-based role?

A welcoming and inclusive Primary school in Watford is looking for a Performing Arts Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2025. This full-time role offers the chance to make a genuine difference to the lives of pupils aged 4-11 with severe and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with severe SEND, including Autism, communication difficulties, and developmental delays.

  • Use drama, music, movement, and creative arts to encourage engagement and build confidence.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support within a structured, nurturing classroom environment.

  • Aid communication using visual supports, gestures, and sign language (training provided if needed).

Who We're Looking For:

  • A graduate in Performing Arts or a related Creative Arts discipline.

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional or complex needs.

  • Patient, empathetic, and flexible, with a creative approach to learning support.

  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in education, creative therapy, or SEND support
