Job description

Teaching Assistant required for Special School in Walthamstow, offering support for children with a wide range of physical, educational and behavioural needs.

We are working with a fantastic Special School based in Walthamstow who are seeking motivated and engaging Teaching Assistants to work in their school from September 2021. The school is highly regarded for their expertise in vision impairment teaching.

The role:

  • To support children with a range of special educational needs, including physical disabilities
  • Responsible for teaching a range of foundation subjects
  • Helping children to overcome barriers to success
  • to work co-operatively with the teaching staff and have the interests of the children at heart at all times

Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work in Walthamstow
  • Must be flexible, solution focused and willing to work in a close team and learn new skills
  • Must be available long term and full time, Monday to Friday
  • Level 3 qualification or higher
  • At least 6 months experience working with special needs
