Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Full-Time - St Albans

We are currently seeking Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the St Albans area. This is a fantastic opportunity for caring and dedicated individuals to work as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant in a supportive, classroom-based setting. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them thrive both academically and personally. About the Role:

  • Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
  • Supporting SEND pupils with their learning, development, and wellbeing
  • Delivering 1:1 or small group support, as guided by the class teacher
  • Assisting with personal care needs where required, ensuring pupils feel safe and supported
  • Promoting inclusion and encouraging full engagement in classroom activities
  • Supporting the delivery of play-based and sensory learning activities to foster communication and independence
  • Collaborating closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement tailored education plans

What We're Looking For:

  • Immediate availability and based in or near St Albans
  • Previous experience working with children in a professional capacity
  • A positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs
  • A genuine passion for helping every child reach their full potential
  • Willingness to assist with personal care and other specific needs as required
