We are delighted to be working with a supportive and inclusive school in Welwyn Garden City, who are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching & Learning Assistant to join their team. This temp-to-perm role is ideal for someone with experience in behaviour mentoring, SEMH support, or SEND, who is ready to make a lasting difference in the classroom.

Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND, including those with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Establish clear and consistent boundaries, supporting pupils to regulate their emotions and engage positively in lessons.
Use de-escalation strategies and behaviour management techniques to reduce barriers to learning.
Work closely with teachers to deliver an inclusive and engaging curriculum, adapted to meet individual needs.
Monitor and record pupil progress, offering feedback that supports both academic achievement and personal growth.

Candidate Requirements:

Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or SEND in a UK school.
Strong interpersonal skills - confident, calm, and resilient under pressure.
Full-time availability: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Based in or able to commute to Welwyn Garden City.
