Job description

We are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work in a specialist SEND setting supporting students in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis. You'll play an important role helping students engage with learning, develop confidence and manage daily routines. Students have severe, profound, and multiple learning difficulties, and personal care forms part of the role.

This position would suit someone with school experience, or someone from a care or support background looking to move into education.

The role

  • Support students in lessons, both 1:1 and in small groups
  • Help students access learning activities and classroom routines
  • Work closely with teaching staff
  • Support students with complex learning needs
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Support personal care where required
  • Build strong working relationships with students
  • Share updates with staff and follow setting procedures

What we're looking for

  • Experience supporting children or young people, or as a care worker
  • Comfortable supporting with personal care
  • Calm, patient and reliable

Pay Rate: £88.94 - £95 per day (PAYE), depending on experience.

Pay rate is dependent on qualifications, experience and skills.
