Job description

Art/Design and Technology Technician

We are looking to appoint a technician to work within a wonderful mixed secondary school with the role being an immediate start. The school has been graded as 'Good' across the board, and it is a place where children have excellent attitudes to their learning. The school is a friendly and welcoming place created with a dedicated, highly professional and caring staff, which you will join Design & Technology (3 days) and Art (2 days) for 36 hours a week.

The role:

  • In your role as Art / Design & Technology Technician, you will be working alongside a fantastic a range of specialism including, Food, Textiles, Product design, Photography, Ceramics and Art and to support children throughout their learning journey
  • To support the development and delivery of Computer Aided Design & Manufacture included in D&T.Use of Laser cutter, 3D printer and CAD experience is essential
  • Use of relevant software such as TinkerCad/ 2D Design/ Solidworks/Photoshop essential/ desirable
  • Restock chemicals and paper for the photography dark room
  • To prepare materials & equipment for practical lessons
  • Placing orders for resources and receiving deliveries on a regular basis.

Requirements:

  • Available to work 08:30 to 16:00, Monday to Friday
  • Have previous experience in a school setting
  • Be available full time immediately and after September
  • Either live in Queens Park or within a commutable distance
  • Ideally have prior experience as a Technician
