Job description

Do you have experience as an Early Years or Year 1 Teaching Assistant? Are you confident in supporting children with phonics?

We have partnered up with a fantastic primary school based in Hounslow who are seeking a talented and bright Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Year 1 class with a particular focus on phonics.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Teaching Assistant supporting pupils from EYFS - KS1 and will have phonics experience. The role starts immediately and is a full-time, long-term position from Monday to Friday with the potential to lead to permanent.

About the role:

  • Provide general classroom support to KS1 pupils
  • Assist the Classroom Teacher with general tasks
  • Lead small group activities
  • Help children to develop their phonics ability
  • Work your way around each table to ensure pupils are on task
  • Implement creative techniques to support children

Requirements:

  • 6 months experience as a Teaching Assistant
  • Degree is ideal
  • Experience in EYFS / KS1
  • Phonics experience is essential
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Must be available full time and immediately
