Are you an experienced Welfare Officer?

We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable Welfare Officer for a Secondary School based in Hillingdon. As a Welfare Officer, you will provide first aid to children and adults in line with H&S requirements and school protocols. You need to be confident in dealing with external healthcare professionals, students, staff and pupils and have experience of working within a school or with young people.

It is a bonus if you have the first aid qualification, however this can be undertaken after being appointed for the role. The school is located in the center of Hillingdon and along with close transport links, there is parking available on site.

The Secondary School is a truly inclusive mixed, multi-ethnic 11-18 school that embraces all aspects of comprehensive education. The curriculum is well balanced and reflects the needs of all their students and the local community in that they cater for the academic and vocational subjects. The role:

  • Be responsible for the running of the school medical room and its supplies
  • To contact parents relating to medical issues
  • Deliver first aid and deal with health professionals and emergency services as required by the school
  • Meet regularly with the school nurse and make appropriate referrals to medical services
  • Perform admin tasks relating to pupils.

Requirements:

  • First Aid Qualification, highly desired
  • Experience of working in a school environment or with young people
  • Admin experience, preferably in a school
  • Good attendance and reliability
