Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Hatfield

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school community. You'll work closely with teaching staff and pupils to help create a positive learning experience where every child can thrive.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, for the full academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play an important part in helping pupils with SEND develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. Your role will include:
- Providing tailored support to children with SEND, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
- Helping to create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to track and encourage pupil progress
- Supporting children in achieving key developmental and learning milestones
- Building positive, trusting relationships and supporting effective behaviour strategies
This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their experience while making a genuine difference in an educational setting.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
- A passion for supporting children with SEND and a commitment to making a positive impact
- Available to start immediately and able to commit for the full academic year
- Must have or be willing to obtain a DBS check
- Experience working with children, with references available
- Local to Hatfield or within a commutable distance
