SEND Teaching Assistant

We are partnering with a welcoming and inclusive specialist school in Watford seeking committed SEND Teaching Assistants. Ideal candidates will have primary school experience, particularly within Early Years, Pre-school or Nursery settings, and feel confident supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities for a SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Provide classroom, 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
• Support children with their learning, development and emotional regulation.
• Assist pupils with personal and intimate care needs.
• Use effective behaviour-management strategies to promote positive behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.

For this role, you will have:

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND.
• Experience within a primary, Early Years, Pre-school or Nursery setting.
• Hands-on experience providing personal or intimate care.
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one, and the ability to commute to Watford.
