Job description

Do you have experience working with SEN pupils?

If so, we are looking for a Learning Mentor to work with Autistic students aged 4-19 years old. The schools vision is to transform lives, change attitudes and help to create a society that works for autistic adults and children. They also focus on working closely with businesses, local authorities and government to help them provide more autism-friendly spaces, deliver better services and improve laws.

Prior experience in a school is ideal, but it is more important that you are open to supporting Autistic students and have experience working with SEN individuals. The school is based in Radlett, and there is parking available, so the role is more suited to someone that drives or lives close to Radlett.

About the school:

A small all though SEN School, where they provide an excellent induction, training and development programme including training about autism. Staff are patient, inspiring, caring and sensitive towards the needs of vulnerable people.

The role:

  • To work 1:1 with an Autistic students
  • To be a team player, and able to work independently
  • Able to provide personal care to students
  • Inspire and help motive students
  • Be committed to creating a safe working environment

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting Autistic individuals
  • Live local to Hertfordshire
  • A good listener
  • Be resilient and able to manage challenging behaviour
  • Available full time from September
