The right candidate will provide both general class and 1:1 support to KS2 pupils, some of whom have SEN and SEMH needs. The Role:

  • Work closely with KS2 pupils as a whole class to keep them engaged in the lesson and excited about learning
  • Provide a high quality of 1:1 support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs
  • Assist the class teacher with general class administration duties and preparation of learning materials
  • Source and adapt lesson plans and resources to suit individual pupil's learning needs
  • Accompany pupils to therapy sessions and assist with activities set by therapists
  • Uphold the values and ethos of the school at all times
  • Continuously monitor and report on pupils' progress and behaviour

Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of solid Teaching Assistant experience
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs
  • A calm and approachable demeanour
  • Clear communication skills
  • Able to manage challenging behaviour in a positive manner
  • A proactive, independent and intuitive approach to the classroom
  • Local or able to commute to Kentish Town
  • Able to work full time from November
