Job description
Job Title: SIMS Administrator - Attendance & Welfare
Hours: 9:00am - 6:00pm, Monday to Friday
Overview:
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive SIMS Administrator to join a busy and supportive school in Slough. This role is key to ensuring the smooth running of attendance processes, accurate data management, and the safe handling of student welfare information, including allergies. The ideal candidate will have strong SIMS experience, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain student records using SIMS
Monitor, record, and report on daily student attendance, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up on absences
Liaise with parents/carers regarding attendance concerns and maintain clear communication records
Oversee and update student medical information, with a focus on allergy management and awareness
Support safeguarding and welfare processes by ensuring all student data is up to date and compliant
Provide general administrative support to the school office as required
Produce reports and analyse attendance data to support school improvement initiatives
Work closely with senior leadership and pastoral teams
Requirements:
Proven experience using SIMS in a school setting
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Experience managing attendance procedures
Knowledge of student welfare processes, particularly allergies and medical records
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
Previous experience in a similar school-based role
Understanding of safeguarding and data protection requirements in education
